It was occasionally mentioned during her childhood that some generation of her mother's family had fled Mendev during the Third Mendevian Crusade. They said it was no longer safe with druids being burned at the stake and such. They claimed that is how they had ended up in Nirmathas. But as with many things told to her during her childhood, Amaracharn was never quite sure what was true or not.
What she was sure of was that she had grown up in a small town in Nirmathas, the daughter of an elven father and human mother. They weren't uncaring parents, but getting their attention could be difficult. Her parents were very independent, and their daughter grew up much the same way.
Her parents were not around often when she was growing up. Her father spent most of his time off on what her mother claimed were extended hunting trips with his elven tribe. He was a Ranger, and a crackshot with a bow. Her mother was a Druid healer, who was so gifted she was often sought out and called to help Nirmathas' military. This left Amaracharn alone more often than not. Though she was often left in the care of her mother's family or family friends, she was just as happy spending time in the forest that made up her home. It wasn't long before she was spending far more time in the woods among the trees and animals, than she was in the town with humans.
Her mother's family taught her the druid faith, and it had a big impression on her. Amaracharn knew she wanted to make a difference, to save the parts of their world that had been destroyed and damaged so terribly by foul magic and those greedy enough to use it for their own power. But she knew she needed to know more, to be better trained to defend nature. So she studied to become a Ranger as well. Mostly because she needed the skills to wage her war against those destroying the world, but also – though she'd never admit it – she was hoping to gain her father's attention. It has yet to work.
She set off on her mission, starting small with sabotaging some of the logging efforts in Nirmathas. But soon she found herself traveling to other countries like Ustalav, to study the effect that the centuries of war and darkness had on the land. During her travels she had the chance to meet Professor Lorrimor, and was fascinated and inspired by his work. They kept in contact, and she learned much from him that she has used in her attempts to save the world from the people destroying it.
During her travels she briefly crossed paths with the Shofta Carnival. She discovered they were preparing for the latest ritual sacrifice to their evil deity, so she stole the dagger necessary to perform the act. While she wasn't uncaring about the human lives that would have been lost in the sacrifice, she knew the ritual also destroyed a large section of forest as well and she wasn't going to let that happen.
Since then she had been traveling with her cat familiar, Carmody. She has yet to find a way to destroy the carnival's dagger.
